Plans – Do They Maketh the Writer Sooner or Later?
It is the night before Christmas and you may wonder what has happened to my usual post? Well, I’m here now…
I know countless wouldbe and alreadybe authors all over the world will make plans (don’t look up alreadybe, I made that up). Some might be kept, developed and bring satisfaction and success. Other plans might be overworked (guilty of that one) and fall by the wayside because they lead to disappointment.
What one action will possibly lead the wouldbe writer to migrate to the newbie (apologies) status… a writer, an author, a playwright, a poet, a blogger, a scriptwriter… what is the thing you have to do?
Yes, you have to sit down and write
My latest article, HOW MARKETS CAN PROMPT YOU TO WRITE: PART THREE is designed to help you ignore your inner critic, to stop procrastinating and to find time to simply write. You know you want to…
The Later Writer might have a greater sense of urgency than the younger one. It’s all about age… or is it? Doesn’t the Later Writer have more material in the brain and heart?
What about me – Shirl D?
I’ve been writing in one way or another, or not writing in lots of ways, since my early twenties. I have been published, by others and by self-publishing means but I have not yet written a book, or a bunch of short stories, so I feel I’ve let myself down.
I enjoy blogging, website building. I like to offer ideas and advice. However, I cannot teach writing because, in the commonly understood sense, I am not a writer. Later Writer is my space to communicate and explore so that I can rekindle the love I have for creative fiction.
I will return in 2021, Covid-willing, with more pages of stuff for you to read while, in the background I will be building my novel. It is exciting. Let us hope my health allows my dreams to happen, because the illness I experience is really NOT my Inner Critic’s doing!
